My Man Crush takes it to Another Level at the CMAs
There aren’t many men in this world that I would be willing to trade places with. My man crush may be the only one. Just when I thought there wasn’t anything left for Justin Timberlake to do, he took his game to a whole new level.
Timberlake is your classic triple threat. Singer. Actor. Dancer. He has a good looking wife and might play every instrument he’s ever touched.
So what if he’s a buck fifty and might be 5’8”? The man dances as if he lives in a zero gravity world. I am envious every time I see him take the stage.
But then he entered an arena that I never thought he would; his most recent triumph the CMAs. Country music? Timberlake? The man who used to collaborate with Timberland? Is this the same guy?
Sure he’s from Memphis and yes, that’s technically the south, but I would never have tied him to that genre. JT is far more soul than Skynyrd, but the guy still pulled it off. He hopped on the guitar during Chris Stapleton’s live performance. Dancing around, strumming the six string and hammering some vocals while sharing the mic like Sambora and Bon Jovi. The3 guy was amazing. He stole the show. Probably the best part of JT’s performance of “Tennessee Whisky” was how easy it was for Stapleton to convince him to participate.
“We had these nominations and thought we were gonna get, maybe, a slot to perform,” Stapleton said. “So I called him up and, and asked him if he’d be interested in doing it and he was like, ‘Yeah man, I’m in. Just tell me when to show up.’ So here we are, we’re gonna do it!”
Another reason to love him. The ultra talented Timberlake is down to earth and loves country music? And just when I thought he couldn’t impress me anymore.
