Episode 010: OSU Underclassmen potentially entering the Draft…

Every season the NFL draft comes near the end of April or beginning of May. Every year there are scores of collegiate players who forgo their eligibility to try their luck in the NFL. Some of those players go undrafted, but some are selected in the 1st round. It is an inexact science to say the least. I believe Ohio State has potentially 10 players, from a variety of positions, who could leave early. We tackle the 5 players on offense and 5 on players defense and whether it would be better for them to stay another season and if I think they will. Some on the list are obvious, but some may surprise you.

Joey Bosa “The only way I would even think of returning, would be to play along side Nicky” SO youre saying theres a chance! I know its 99% that hes gone, and like you said, nothing left to prove…but could you imagine the Bosa Boys wrecking havoc in the Big Ten next year? Next years team reminds me of the 2012 squad, we could go either way. I hope we bring on another OC that brings something to the table besides what we showed this year.

If you were Urban who would you take? Any bright young minds like TH out there or perhaps someone willing to switch teams to get a better gig and chance at HC position? Baylor puts up points, can you imagine that high octane with the D full of young guns ready to fire silver bullets like Ash did? Think Rex Ryan would be willing to create an all star cast of coaches? Bill Legg-Marshall (close to home) Mike Norvell, or Sonny )Cumbie our offensive coordinator) from TCU? They have 2 good ones that split duties so let one go. OH-

The offensive staff will be just fine. Look at what they were able to put together against the team up north. Sometimes it takes a year for a new staff to fully feel comfortable with each other. As far as the defense, Ash is a terrific coach, but I believe Fick still made most of the calls. The Schiano hiring will change the defensive staff dynamics considerably. We will just have to see how that situation evolves.

Saw them play in high school together against Dwyer High School in North Palm Beach–couldn’t tell who was the freshman and who was the senior!!
